Note from the CNCPI to the European Commission
The CNCPI participated in the consultation of the European Commission for its Intellectual Property Rights Action Plan
The European Commission opened to stakeholders a consultation on its roadmap for its future IP Action Plan on July 10, with a view to presenting it at the end of 2020.
On this occasion, the CNCPI sent a note to the European Commission, recalling first of all what made the strength of other countries (United States, Japan ...) in terms of IP and that it would therefore be useful to analyze their relationship to IP. As a continuation and by contrast, the note then sets out in what way the relationship to IP in emerging countries is a threat for European IP. On the basis of these first two parts, the CNCPI issues recommendations to the European Commission in terms of jurisdiction and ecology.
Finally, the CNCPI invites the Commission to be a leader in the establishment of an international digital public order before concluding the argument by mentioning the empowerment of platforms in the fight against the infringement of IP rights.
