The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has informed the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) that, under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”) dated March 27, 2020, time limits to file certain patent-related (including design patent-related) documents and to pay certain required fees have been extended. This extension also covers time limits for the filing of certain documents and the payment of certain fees with respect to international registrations designating the United States of America.
